Extended biography (for press coverage)

Mikkel Kristensen Illán was born in Murcia on 12 November 2008. He is a racing driver with dual Spanish and Danish nationality, specialising in endurance racing.

The son of a Danish father and a Spanish mother, he began his racing career in karting in 2020, at the age of 11. From his earliest days in competition, he has combined his academic studies with participation in national and international championships.

In 2026, he completed the International Baccalaureate (IB), an academic programme he combined with his progression in motorsport.

His competitive motorsport debut came in 2024 with Chefo Sports in the Spanish GT4 Championship, driving a Ligier JS2 R. That season, he finished as national runner-up alongside Ángel Santos, one of the standout results of his early career in GT racing.

That same year, he also competed in the Iberian Supercars series, driving Chefo Sports’ Ligier JS2 R GTX and securing a victory in the GTX category in Valencia. The regional press reported on this result, highlighting his progression as a Murcia-born driver with dual nationality.

In the 2024/25 season, he made the step up to prototypes with Inter Europol Competition, competing in the Asian Le Mans Series in the LMP3 category and driving the No. 43 Ligier JS P320.

In 2025, he joined Nielsen Racing to compete in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, also in the LMP3 category, driving an ADESS AD25 prototype.

In 2026, it was announced that he would join the French team ANS Motorsport to compete in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in the LMP3 category, as well as in the Ultimate Cup European Series. This new chapter consolidated his presence in prototype racing, following a career spanning GT4, GTX and LMP3 competitions.

In addition to his racing career, in June 2026 he began working as a technical commentator for European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup broadcasts on DAZN.

Throughout his career, Kristensen has competed with teams including Chefo Sports, Inter Europol Competition, Nielsen Racing and ANS Motorsport. His main achievements include finishing runner-up in the Spanish GT4 Championship in 2024 and winning the GTX category in Valencia in the Iberian Supercars series that same year.
